Tap Room at Dubsdread click here to see what is new at Dubsdread Country Club
The final night of the FIFTIETH REUNION OF THE WINTER PARK HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1959 will be held at the ever-popular Dubsdread Country Club, Par Avenue, Orlando, Florida. Your Reunion Committee is working hard to make this night a memorable one. We will hope that some people will arrive early for photographing to avoid long waiting lines later. Someone will be there to send you in the right direction beginning at 6 P.M.
Memorabilia will be on display beginning at 6 P.M. and you are encouraged to bring your most valued items to share with classmates.
There will be a social hour (complete with cash bar), tantalizing appetizers, delicious buffet, scrumptous desserts, enjoyable music from our era provided by Hot Trax, our own MC(guess who), games, prizes and so much more. The menu for Saturday evening includes hot Hor d'Oeuvres, choice of meat from Carving Station; a Pasta Station with your choice of two starches; choice of two vegetables and we will provide dessert.
Dress for this and ALL REUNION EVENTS is casual, that means no coat or ties for the men and slacks or casual dresses for the women. We want you to be comfortable and to relax and enjoy the time with your friends.
During the evening a photographer will take not only individual and couple photographs but also any groupings that may be desired (for example, cheerleaders, football team, debate team or just a group of friends). You may order a CD from the photographer containing all photos taken for $20. There will be cameras on the tables so each table can have candid shots of classmates throughout the evening. These will be turned in and then signed out for development so Barbara can have them all for use with the Memory Book.
A collection of all the information we have acquired, volumnous photographs and descriptions of the weekend activities will all be available in the Memory Book which will be sent out to those ordering it within a reasonable time. This Memory Book will be invaluable in not only recalling the activities of the weekend, but also in enabling you to contact classmates throughout the country. We expect that those classmates who do not attend in person will wish to order a Memory Book to enjoy. This way you can be there vicariously through your classmates. Barbara Ellis Price is already assemblying the material to go in this book, some of which you will send us on your questionnaires; so it should be ready within a short time after the reunion weekend.

Early Arrival's Dinner (time to be announced later)
Some classmates are choosing to arrive early at the Mt. Vernon Inn to get settled in and check out their surroundings. Lee Gartside and his wife, Tanna, will be on site Thursday to answer questions. Carolyn Ruelle is making arrangements for us to meet and eat at the Olive Garden, 655 N. Orlando Avenue, Winter Park, (across from the Winter Park Village) on Thursday evening. On your reservation sheet you will be asked to indicate your intention to join us for dinner so that we can get a head count for the restaurant. This is for everyone, out-of-towners and locals. You will be responsible for your own meals. So far we have 41 people signed up for dinner on Thursday.
If you are planning to stay at the Mt. Vernon Inn, make your reservations early as rooms near the Hospiitality Room (on the second floor, room #256) are limited and are available on a first-come, first-booked basis. There are some smoking rooms still available and other blocks should open up within the next week. Be sure to indicate you are with the CLASS OF 1959. If you are a walker, the Mt. Vernon Inn is close enough to walk into town and, if not, there is plenty of parking at the City lot near the train station and also at the Farmers' Market. Oh yes, there is a parking garage on the site where many of us went to elementary school!
The Golf Tournament is scheduled for Friday afternoon at 1:00 P.M., but nothing else is planned until registraton at the Wildcat Rumble Bar-B-Q on Friday night at the Farmers' Market at 6:00 P.M.
