MELVIN DOUGLAS BRATTON Melvin Douglas Bratton died at 7:58 a.m., Wednesday, April 16, 2008, in Renaissance Speciality Hospital, Muncie. He was born on Sept. 28, 1941, Urbana, Ohio, to the late Francis and Juanita (Ramey) Bratton. He married Debbie Zirkle on Dec. 20, 1988. She survives. He was a self employed insurance broker, and a U.S.Navy veteral. Melvin attended Hansfield United Methodist Church, where he served as an usher. Mel was a ship to shore cryptographer in the Navy. He was a world traveler, lawyer, judge and teacher, but he always felt his greatest contribution to society was his children. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and now heis home with our Lord and Savior. Survivors include his wife, Debbie Zirkle, LaFontaine; daughters, Rebecca Bratton, LaFontaine, Stephanie Bratton, LaFontaine;sons, Jonathan Bratton, LaFontaine, Michael Bratton, LaFontaine; half brother, William(Gloria)Bratton, Ottowa, Ohio; In-laws, Zimri (Pat)Zirkle; sisters-in-law Pam(Chuck) Gulish, Michelle(Josh) Egler;five nephews; two nieces; three great nieces; one great nephew. | The Orlando Sentinel August 29, 2004 CLERK, ROBERT "BOB-KEYA" DOUGLAS, died suddenly Friday, August 27, 2004 of liver cancer. Bob was a native Floridian born April 18, 1941 in Miami, FL moving to Winter Park, FL when a year old and residing in Central Florida. Bob was a loving and gentle man who loved many and was loved by many. Bob was in the US Army stationed in Ft. Hood, TX. Worked with his father, Roger Clerk, selling industrial chemicals for Atlantic Chemicals, in the banking industry working for Barnett Banks and Sun Banks and worked for Grantham Distributing in transportation and logistics. He is survived by wife Mary; step-mother Mary Clerk and mother-in-law Mary Lloyd; his childhood "brothers", his many "op" children; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Darwin and Lillian Lloyd of Parrish, FL, and several nieces and nephews. | Bobby J. Cook was born on May 4, to Albert and Gladys Cook. He spent 35 years as an Orange County firefighter, retiring at the rank of Lieutenant in 2002. He enjoyed spending time with his family, joking and laughing, reading, going to the movies and adding to his collection of historical memorabilia. He is survived by his loving wife, Gail, and his children Terry, Jackie, Richie and Rebecca. He was lovingly known as "Batman" to his surviving grandchildren Christopher, Christine, Caleb, Nathaniel, Houston and Hagen. We will certainly miss, yet never forget, those sparkling blue eyes and that funnny grin when he was up to no good. We will miss you always and love you even longer. Sun-Herald January 2, 1980 Mrs. Brigitta Lamborn Durner, 38, Winter Park, died April 25 from injuries suffered in a car accident in Palm Beach. Born in Stockholm, Sweden, she came here in 1955. She was a graduate of Winter Park High School and Texas Womens University at Denton, Texas. She had been an Eastern Airlines stewardess prior to joining IBM in White Plains, N.Y. Global Surf News January 23, 2007 Longtime Hawaii surf forecaster and Honolulu resident, George Mason, missing since the first week of November, has been found dead according to Highsurfwarning.com, his place of employment. According to his blog, Mr. Mason published the first regular surf forecast in the Honolulu Advertiser in 1975, and subsquently had a lasting and versatile career as a surf forecaster. Working first as a television and radio meteorologist, he went on to forecast for Surfline.com in Hawaii for over 12 years. Mr. Mason has also done weather consulting for films like Point Break, Jurassic Park, Waterworld and 6 Days 7 Nights. | Judith McGrawMcNeill Judy passed away on Sunday, September 7, 1008 after a long, courageous struggle with breast cancer. Judy was a pioneer in the search for a cure for breast cancer and participated in many research trials over the last few years. She and her husband were world travelers . The Orlando Sentinel August 2, 2007 OSWALD, DONNA LEE, AGE 66, of Winter Springs, FL, passed away July 30, 2007. Donna was born June 11, 1941 in Dearborn, MI, the daughter of Donald R. and Frances Peggy (Foster) Osward Sr. Ms. Oswald worked as an Administrative Assistant in many different fields. She was a devout Christian, and animal lover; having been a longtime supporter of the Semionole County Humane Society. Donna is survived by her daughter, Tory Dawn Collins, one brother, Donald Osward Jr., one sister, Cathy, and two grandchildren, Jesse and Chelsea. | Summerton, North Carolina Ann Athelia Quirk Carrigg, 66, of Summerton, wife of Theodore M. Carrigg, died Thursday, March 13, at her home. Born April 3, 1941, in Watkins Glen, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Frank Patrick and Elizabeth Wellman Quirk. She was a retired logistics analyst for BAE Systems, one of the largest defense contractors. She was a member of Grace Christian Fellowship Church, and a member of the SC Square and Round Dance Association.

All Faiths Ffufneral Alternatives and Creamation Service, Orlando. | The St. Augustine Record Holton, Nella Rogero Nella passed away Sept. 30, 2005 after a long struggle with non-smoker's lung cancer. She was born Sept. 23, 1941 in Winter Park, Fla. Nella and her brother and sister enjoyed growing up in the small exquisite village of Winter Park where she enjoyed water ballet, art and dance lessons. She was baptized at and attended Winter Park Baptist Church. Her family moved to Clearwater, Fla., in her junior year of high school. Nella graduated from Clearwater High School in 1959. She participated as a varsity cheerleader, recording secretary of the Student Council, was voted "Most Popular", and was "Miss September" in the school's calendar. In 1960, she attended Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Fla. She pledged Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, was elected Junior Sweetheart of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity and was a junior varsity cheerleader. Her sorority nominated her to participate in the "Miss Lakeland" contest. In 1961-62 she attended St. Petersburg Junior College. She pledged LHL sorority and was elected Miss Triad. Nella completed her degree in Fine Arts at the University of South Florida in 1975. She worked as a realtor in Tampa for 20 years. In 1991, Nella and her husband Hal moved to St. Augustine. Nella enjoyed learning about her Rogero family heritage and their importance to Florida in 1760's and later. She became president of the Menorcan Cultural Society and a board member of the EMMA concert association. She became a member of the St. Augustine Preservation Support Group and later worked for the State of Florida and then the City of St. Augustine as the Events and Trust Coordinator. She traveled to Spain and Menorca several times as a city representative. She held historical programs and developed two major events, "Victorian Spring" and "MenEndez Biirthday Festival" held held in St. Augustine from 1996-2004. During the MenEndez Festival, dignitaries from sister cities Aviles and Menorca, Spain, visited St. Augustine. Nella loved working with the many volunteers that made her job a success. She was a member of Memorial Presbyterian Church and is survived by: her husband, Hal; sons Todd of Seattle, Wash., and Blake of West Palm Beach; two grandchildren; a brother Richard Samuel Rogero Jr. of Tierra Verde; and a sister, Janet Rogero Holley of Winter Haven. In lieu of flowers family and friends may wish to contribute to the "Nella Rogero Holton Memorial Fund" to be used for the Colonial St. Augustive Preservation Foundation. |

Ruth Carrington Sharpe died January 5, 2000, in Naples, Florida, at the age of 58. She developed pneumonia while traveling in the Bahamas on her private yacht and was medivaced to Naples. Confirmed by Betsy Sharpe. | JOAN GRACE SPAULDING, born February 10, 1941, died February 25, 1964, in an Eastern Airlines crash into Lake Ponchatrain in New Orleans, LA. She went to Rollins College until her senior year when she transferred to Sophie Newcombe (Tulane). She worked for The Chase Manhattan Bank in the Trust Dept. in New York, and was visiting friends, interviewing for law school and becoming engaged during this visit. The cause of the crash was pilot over correcting for a steep ascent of the 707. As a result of this crash they learned that a pilot cannot correct more than 15% or he loses control. Confirmed by Stevie Spaulding Wilberding, Joan Spaulding's sister. | March 1, 2004 - Fort Pierce Nancy T. Coleman, 62, of Fort Pierce died Feb. 28, 2004, at her residence after a prolonged illness. She was born July 2, 1941, in Palatka and moved to Vero Beach in 1982 from Nashville, Tenn. before moving to Fort Pierce. Mrs. Coleman was a teacher for Indian River County for 19 years before she retired in 2001. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Vero Beach, Daughters of the American Revolution and Delta Kappa Gamma. Surviving are her husband, Carson, one son, Charles Gisler, of Fort Myers; one daughter, Michelle Balfoort, of Fort Lauderdale; two sisters, Rebecca Phillips, of Winter Park, Celena Wood of Oneonta, Ala; and one grandchild. The Orlando Sentinel January 23, 2004 WHITTINGTON, III, JOHN ATWOOD, Born September 9, 1941 in Atlanta, GA, moved to Winter Park in 1954, served in the military in the mid 1960's in Germany. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 1970, and worked in Germany for two years. In 1974 he reurned to Winter Park to work with his father in commercial real estate. WHITTLE, REED. We are saddened to report the death of Dr. Reed Whittle on August 12, 2008. Dr Whittle died from complications of Sweet's syndrome at the age of 66. For more tha 35 years,Dr. Whittle was an international management consultant to the leaders on Fortune 500 companies including Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, Barclay's Bank, and several hospital chains and public utilities. His training as a psychotherapist as well as a management consultant gave him skills particularly useful to the field of human resources management. Dr. Whittle was born on January 25, 1942 in Jacksonville, Florida. He attended Culver Military Academy and Duke University. Active in the civil rights movement early in his life, he aspired to use the church as a vehicle for social justice and earned a doctorate from the University of Chicago Divinity School. For several years he served as a minister in the Boston area. Later he pursued post-doctoral work at the Sloan Business School at M.I.T. in organizational development and international management. Dr. Whittle was passionate about the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman, a scuba diving master, and a photographer. He traveled extensively, including Tibet, Papau New Guinea and the Amazon basin where he spent several weeks living with a tribe. He is survived by his wife, Sassona Norton Whittle, two children, Scott Whittle and Dr.Amy Whittle, from his first marriage to Carolyn Lansden Whittle, his sister Sharon Utter-Whittle, and brother Linford Whittle.

Atlantic Ave., died Monday in Subic Bay, Philippines. A native of Schenectady, N. Y. originally, Ens. Willard graduated from Winter Park High School and was a 1964 Rollins College graduate. He was a member of the Student Council and Sigma Nu Fraternity at Rollins and also managed the college baseball team for two years. His Winter Park home was formerly 1540 Grove Terrace. Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles E.
